A Colorado wine; Big with aromas black cherry, dark plum and meat; Up-front fruit flavors blend into flavors of leather, toasted oak, light spice, and moderate tannins. A cab-drinkers Merlot, to be sure. As a reserve wine, it represents the best efforts of the vineyard, and it shows.

NYR DESCRIPTION/REVIEWS:
The Reserve wines from Cottonwood Cellars spend two years in both French and American oak barrels and are unfiltered wines that may contain a small amount of sediment. They may be enjoyed now, but are best after about 5 years of aging.
With moderate tannins, good structure and lots of complexity we call this our “cab drinker’s merlot.” It will accompany any red meat, but is best paired with lamb.--Winemaker's Note
Cottonwood Cellars is a family owned winery near Olathe Colorado, which began operation in 1994. It consists of 22.5 acres of vineyards, and produces only 4000 cases of wine per year across 7 different varietals.
